For TOWN Magazine's Art & Style issue I directed a team to create a concept that combined elements of art and fashion. With dancers from the Carolina Ballet and beautiful weddings gowns from local boutiques, my goal was to create a final feature that looked like a painting come to life. My background in scenic art helped me design and paint both backdrops and all set pieces. I also directed hair and makeup looks. This project was a true collaboration between so many talented team members and remains my favorite project.
Steel House Mastering
Steel House Mastering is a mastering studio offering audio services. I did a recent rebrand for him, with the basic idea centered around a pair of headphones he uses. I also created a couple of t-shirt, mug, and tote bag designs for his online store.
vive Magazine Embroidered Cover
Our theme for the winter 2023 issue of vive was "traditions." We had several stories we wanted to feature so I thought an interesting way to combine them would be to custom embroider a design for the cover of the magazine. This would highlight the story about the Upstate Stitchers club along with the bird watchers. I sketched several designs, started at least four different versions, and kept my team in the loop at each stage of the process as we decided what looked best. Once the embroidery was finished, I gave a splash of watercolor to the background for the perfect finish.
The Nightshade Series
I was honored to work with a dear friend on her debut young adult mystery series. For this series I worked with the author to create custom illustrations for both covers. I also created illustrations to accompany the chapter headers and rounded out the project by laying out the interior of the books as well.
